About TexasPanhandle.com

An independent road-trip portal for the top of Texas.

TexasPanhandle.com exists to answer the questions that come up when you plan a trip to the Texas Panhandle: where to go, how long to stay, how to get between places, and what is worth booking ahead.

What the site covers

We cover the 26 counties at the top of Texas, plus Lubbock just to the south. We are not a tourist board or a government site. The site is organised as a portal: region-wide pages on tours, itineraries, transport, practicalities, seasons and where to stay, plus eight destination guides, each with six pages.

How we work

  • Accuracy first. We would rather say “around” or “check current rates” than print a price or opening time that will be wrong next season. Entry rules, fares and timetables change; always confirm with official sources.
  • Real products only. Every tour we list is a real GetYourGuide product, and every hotel is a real property. GetYourGuide coverage of this region is very thin, and we say so on the pages concerned.
  • Free images, credited. Photographs come from Wikimedia Commons under free licences and are listed on our image credits page.

How the site is funded

The site is free to use and is supported by affiliate commissions: if you book a tour or hotel through one of our links we may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. See our affiliate disclosure.

Most of this trip is yours to drive

The Panhandle is road-trip country with few bookable tours. Check what GetYourGuide currently offers around Amarillo, then fill in the rest with our free guides.
