The Lighthouse rock in Palo Duro Canyon on a bright day

Texas Panhandle tours

A short list, because the Panhandle has very few bookable tours. Every product here is real, and labelled by location.

This is the thinnest tours page on any of our guides, and we would rather tell you so.

GetYourGuide’s coverage of the Panhandle is very thin. The only local product we could confirm in November 2026 is a horseback ride in Palo Duro Canyon. Nothing turned up for Caprock Canyons, Lake Meredith, Pampa or Dalhart, and we could not find a Lubbock location page. We could not open the product pages directly, so details such as price or duration are shown only where a search result gave them.

The other tours below are genuine, but in gateway cities hours away. Use them only if they lie on your route. Most of what is good about the Panhandle is free or close to it, and needs only a car: see our road-trip itineraries.

The best real options, nearest first

Sorted by how useful each is on a Panhandle trip, not by a marketing score.

Further afield: gateway-city tours

Useful only if you fly in or out through these cities. They are many hours from Amarillo.

Tour FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Are there Palo Duro Canyon tours?

We could confirm one on GetYourGuide: a horseback ride. Most visitors explore the park on their own.

Is there a bus tour of Route 66 in Texas?

We found none. The Route 66 tours on GetYourGuide are mostly in Arizona and Nevada, plus the city tours listed above.

Why list tours so far away?

Many Panhandle road trips begin or end in these cities. We label them clearly so you do not mistake them for local tours.

Are prices in US dollars?

Yes, where shown. They are indicative “from” prices seen in search listings, and the live price is on GetYourGuide.
