The Depot District and downtown offer music and food. Around Texas Tech is convenient for museums. South Lubbock has chain hotels and shopping.
Food and wine
Think barbecue, steak and Tex-Mex. The High Plains grows most of the state’s wine grapes; several wineries pour in and around the city, and you can compare them with a short drive.
Music
Live venues in the Depot District carry on the tradition of Buddy Holly and the many other musicians from the area, including the Cactus Theater for classic shows.
